About Us

Bridge Nigeria, Inc., formerly known as LYNX (Linking Youth of Nigeria through Exchange), was set up by a group of Nigerian students in the Boston area who shared a common desire to create  positive change in Nigeria.  Inspired by the success of an ad-hoc book-drive for the University of Nigeria in May 2000, the founding members met at Harvard University’s Adam’s Hall and considered ways in which they could expand their impact in Nigeria.  Collectively, they decided that their contribution could best be made through focused and practical projects aimed at engaging their peers in Nigeria.  By matching their skills and resources to the stated needs of Nigerian youth, they successfully executed the first major project— The LYNX Youth Leadership Camp. The camp whose participants were drawn from high schools across Nigeria was held in the nation’s capital of Abuja and has been recognized as a a benchmark of Nigerian youth enrichment programming.

Since then, through subsequent sports and drama camps organized in the Boston area, and youth camps in Nigeria, Bridge Nigeria has remained focused on its commitment to the development of Nigeria’s future human capital, and recognition of our cultural heritage.

Looking for more relevance, the organization is committed to facilitating projects that allow Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to influence each other’s enterpreneural, educational and cultural experiences. The Bridge Nigeria identity and our flagship Fellows and Literacy programs represent our direction and vision.
