Bridge Fellows Program
Bridge Nigeria supports both the host organization and the fellow through the following processes:
Sourcing Suitable Fellows
Bridge Nigeria continues to recruit potential participants into the Fellows Program. The pool consists of students and young professionals with academic backgrounds and working experience in various disciplines, including: IT and Engineering; Accounting & Marketing; Finance & Management; Human Rights and Community Development. Creativity, technical competence, and passion for Nigeria's growth and development are key selection criteria. Bridge Nigeria currently invites applicants for its 2007 Fellows Program. Download the application.
Preparation
After an appropriate need has been identified with a local partner organization; a suitable candidate will be matched with the organization. In order to ensure the successful integration of the fellow into the local community, Bridge Nigeria would coordinate all pre-project logistics including advisory assistance on visa matters, airport pickup, and setting up a bank account in Nigeria, as necessary. During the course of their internships, fellows will also participate in cultural and networking events in Nigeria. Preparation will also include interactive discussions to prepare fellows for living in Nigeria, and tailored curricula to prepare fellows for their specific projects.
Sustainability & Measurement
For sustainability and value creation, Bridge Nigeria will ensure that fellows’ experiences are properly documented and made available as a resource on community and business development in Nigeria. In addition, fellows from prior projects will participate in recruiting potential candidates into the program. Thorough evaluations will also be conducted of the internship experience to ensure that both the host organization and the fellow received tangible benefits from the experience.
